...so...
I've definitely been slacking in the blog department lately... I'm a little overdue for a new post. Things have been kind of busy, but I've got some time now. So, here goes:
Lately I have been in the most random music swing... I've been listening to some Frank Sinatra, some Rolling Stones, a little bit of rap (since when did this enter the realm of my musical enjoyment?!!), U2, Belle and Sebastian, and Leonard Cohen. Oh, and this wild group called Rasputina... very strange music, indeed...
Also, someone recently burned me a few Robin Williams comedy sketches, and I have been listening to those while cleaning my room - cleaning has never been so fun. I LOVE Robin Williams. Highly recommend him on down days... along with the movie BRIDESMAIDS!!!! Oh my goodness... I went to see that a couple of weeks ago, and left the movie theater with smudged mascara from laughter-induced tears and an aching stomach. I laughed so hard... that may truly be the funniest movie I have ever seen.
My new iPod came in yesterday! Hooray! My old one broke and ran out of space, so I had to save up for a new one.
...and speaking of electronics, I got a new phone. With texting!!! Ah, what a concept... I have never before had texting, and suddenly feel so tech-savvy, even though I'm several years behind the rest of the world in this respect....
Also, last week, my family and I went out to Donnel Pond for a little vacation. My close friend Rebecca joined us for a few days, which was really, really nice and much needed.... it had been a while since we last spent time together.
The weather was a little strange; most days were gray, foggy and chilled, so little time was spent swimming on my part. I mostly cozied up with a lot of good books (nice to finally have some quality reading time!), and - of course - took walks with the dog and/or my camera to get some good pictures. I played with macro a bit more...
Although the camp was certainly relaxing, I was very happy to be home... I felt pretty confined at the pond. Pulling away from everything for a few days is too similar to the past two years to be a true vacation for me.
I also saw two more friends once I returned home... my friend Taylor came down for several days and we had a BLAST. It had been about a year since we last saw each other, and there was a lot of catching up to do... and I also got together with another friend yesterday, who will soon be leaving for college. We are hoping to get in one more visit together before she's gone.
Well that was a rather random post.... I will try to be a little more consistent in my posting from here on out...

Wow, that last picture is really beautiful! I love the first one as well.. it really gives you a different way of looking at the pond, and it's so different than what I'm used to seeing there.
