Whiffletree

I just got home from a free waterfront concert, which was AMAZING. The group Whiffletree (see their MySpace page here to listen),  is two brothers; one plays cello and the other plays violin. Their music is a blend of folk, fiddle, and rock with a kiss of classical... probably from their classical-training roots. And watching them play really added... they tapped their feet and smiled and got lost in the music, glancing at each other every once in a while to stay together or signal cues.

As a violinist/fiddler and lover of incorporation of strings into all varieties of musical genres, I was truly inspired.

Really wishing I had a friend who played the cello right now....

In any case, check 'em out! Only listening to the tracks won't quite encompass the beauty and sincerity of their live performance, but it's still great.
