macro macro macro

Since it was so sunny and beautiful today and Mom's flowers were looking especially vibrant, I decided to grab the macro lens someone lent me and get some good use out of it. This is perhaps my favorite photo from the excursion.... I love how the spider is merely a silhouette.

(if you click on the photo, you can see it larger, and the silhouette is more clearly visible)

I didn't end up taking many flower photos... just chasing bees all over my lawn! When using a lens with a small depth of field, bees are ridiculously difficult to photograph - I never realized how rapidly and efficiently they move from flower to flower to pollinate... it's amazing, really. And they were never perturbed by the giant monster sticking a huge camera lens up in their faces (if bees have faces..?). We could all use a lesson in productivity and focus from the bees.
